Meet your coach
How do I chat or talk to my coach?
Tap the coach pill at the bottom of any screen to open the coach. From there you can type a message or tap the mic to switch into hands-free voice mode — great while you’re cooking, walking, or warming up.
The coach can plan a workout for you, swap an exercise, log an activity from a description, look up technique cues, and answer questions about your stats.
Notifications: the first time you open the app you’ll be asked to allow notifications. To change this later, go to Profile → Settings → Notifications. You can toggle general push notifications and coach-initiated nudges separately.
Can the coach help me during a workout?
You can keep the coach with you during a tracked workout. From any active activity screen, open the coach and switch to voice to get spoken cues, ask for a form check, or have the coach read your next set out loud.
During a guided plan the coach also calls out task transitions through your phone’s audio — pacing intervals, counting reps, and announcing rest periods so you don’t have to look at the screen.
How do I look up how to do an exercise?
Move includes a library of step-by-step illustrations and short demo videos for the exercises in your plans. Whenever the coach generates a workout, each move is a tappable card — tap it to see the form cues, target muscles, and a video preview.
You can also ask the coach directly: “Show me how to do a Bulgarian split squat” or “What’s a good substitute for burpees?” It will pull up the move from the library and offer alternatives if you can’t do the original (bad knee, no equipment, tight on space, etc.).
What does the coach remember about me?
The coach can remember things about you across sessions so you don’t have to repeat yourself. If you say “I’m training for a half marathon in June” or “my left knee is recovering from a sprain,” the coach will offer to save that as a memory and use it to shape future plans.
You can review and edit your memories at any time from Profile → Settings → Coach memory. Delete anything you no longer want it to know about.
What are coach nudges?
If you opt in, the coach can send short push notifications — an encouraging check-in if you haven’t moved today, a heads-up that your weekly recap is ready, or a nudge to wrap a streak before midnight.
These are tuned to be useful, not noisy. Turn them off any time at Profile → Settings → Notifications → Coach nudges.
What’s in my weekly summary?
At the end of each week the coach generates a personal recap of how you trained — activities completed, distance, time, badges earned, and a short written note from the coach about what stood out.
You’ll get a push when it’s ready, and you can also find it from the Progress tab. Tap any slide to share it.
